Photographing Greenville’s Churches
Diane Hopkins-Hughs and Anne Martin

(313D10) Saturday, 1 session, May 1, 9 –3, meet at Museum, $59

(314D10) Wednesday, 1 session May 19, 9–3, meet at the Museum, $59

Grab your camera and set out to see four of Greenville’s landmark churches in a whole new way. Led by photographer Diane Hopkins-Hughs and naturalist Anne Martin, students will follow in the footsteps of Greenville’s founding father, Vardry McBee, who donated land in the 1820s for Christ Church Episcopal, First Presbyterian Church, Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, and Downtown Baptist Church. Images of these churches figure prominently in the Museum’s current exhibition, A Portrait of Greenville. Bring a camera (film or digital) and a bag lunch. Participants will develop their own photos outside of class in either film or digital form.
